Golf – is a game in which a ball is stroked by a club from a specially prepared zone known as ‘teeing ground’ through ‘fairway’ and ‘rough’ in the direction of other specially prepared zone with a hole on it known as ‘putting green’. The point of a game is to win the hole, which means to start a play from teeing ground and to hole out on the putting green in as few strokes as possible. ‘Round of golf’ consists of a play on 18 holes.
There are two main types of this play, one of them is determined by the correlation of the holes which were lost or won (match play) and the other one – by the amount of strokes made to complete the round (stroke play).
Playing golf it is important to remember three main principles:
“Play the course as you find it.
Play the ball as it lies.
And if you can’t do either, do what is fair.”
To do what is fair, you need to know the Rules of Golf. In the following there is a summary of the Rules of Golf.
